The Hare’s Choice
It’s publication day for The Hare’s Choice, which is included in the Fractured Reveries Anthology.
This story was inspired by the myth of Artemis and her hounds, who in the Greek myths, was a protector of young girls and women. When we studied the myth in The Season of the Hare, I couldn’t help but wish the women and girls of today had such a mythic figure to protect them.
I usually write memoir and often write about my experiences with domestic violence. In this fictional story, I wanted to explore the question of “why don’t women just leave?” There are no simple answers, and I hoped I could get readers to pause and think about the choices they might make in Christy’s situation.
The anthology is available in paperback or kindle, and all proceeds from sales are going towards funding need-based scholarships to future Storied Imaginarium workshops.
